In the Western Pyrenees, Navarra is a region of spectacular landscapes. A constant procession of pilgrims used to head through this region following the
Road to Santiago (or St Jean de Compostella) starting at
Roncesvalles. In the North are mountain ranges and deep green valleys and in the South you will find a golden brown landscape apart from the vineyards of
La Ribera.
Pamplona is the capital and is the home of the San Fermin festivities. The Running of the Bulls (Pamplona) and Fiestas Patronales de Santa Ana (Tudela) takes part every July and should not be missed.
Olite was once home of the Kings of Navarra and the royal Castle Palace is worth a visit.
Food……..
